Ms. McIntyre was born in Chicago, IL and recently moved to Colorado. She is a huge Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She has two teaching certificates valid in Illinois and Colorado with concentrations in Secondary English Language Arts and Special Education. Prior to teaching, Ms. McIntyre was a Residential Treatment Specialist where she provided care and supervision for children enrolled in the residential treatment program. In addition, she assisted in the development of individual treatment plans for children who are emotionally disturbed, have behavior disorders and/or have significant delays in their social or speech and language development. Ms. McIntyre also was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Illinois State University's Writing Program. She provided instructional assistance to students who were taking English 101 by focusing on teaching through technology and assessment by portfolio. Her teaching career began with Chicago Public Schools where she taught every grade level between K-8th during her four short years. Ms. McIntyre considers herself versatile and a dedicated child advocate with a solid focus on the individual needs of identified and Special Education students. She believes that all children will thrive and develop in an adaptable educational atmosphere. During her spare time, Ms. McIntyre enjoyes the beautiful Colorado senerey and loves to mountian bike, ski, golf and hike.
