Ms. Newton was born and raised in Pennsylvania and continues to be a big Steelers fan!!!. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elem. Education (concentration in special needs mild/moderate) in Bloomsburg, PA. Maurita then moved to Bailey and began her teaching career. She took a two year break to acquire her Master’s degree in Behavior Disorders and Autism from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She then moved back to Colorado, fell in love, and moved to Bailey to continue her career. She spent two years at FMS in the Special Education department and now works in preschool.
