What is PCCIRA?

Platte Canyon Council of the International Reading Association (PCCIRA) is a local chapter of the Colorado Council of the International Reading Association (CCIRA) and is affiliated with the International Reading Association (IRA).

The purpose of PCCIRA is to strengthen and promote literacy within the Platte Canyon school district and community. PCCIRA also provides staff development opportunities for teachers in the school district. Each school year, the students and parents at Deer Creek Elementary are given the opportunity to attend a family literacy night which is made possible in part by the efforts of the PCCIRA board, teachers, and staff at DCES.
