Mrs. Weinberg was born and raised in upstate New York in a town much smaller than Bailey.   After earning her degree in Elementary Education/Speech and Theatre at SUNY Oswego, she moved first to Southern California and then to Southern Illinois .  At SIU Carbondale, she studied Rehabilitation Counseling.  Finally in 1977, she relocated to Colorado to live in her beloved mountains where she worked as an Outdoor Program Director for Camp Fire Inc. Outdoor education and fun learning became driving forces of her teaching philosophy during those years.

She and her husband spent 2 years motorcycle camping and working throughout Western Europe after they married.   When her first son was born, she actively pursued special education training and advocacy on his behalf.   Her second son brought her experience with gifted and talented students.   Today, an empty nester, she is back at school again where she loves helping every child she meets unwrap their special gift by working hard and having fun!
